The ESL and Valve together had decided to cancel Rio Major CS: GO 2020 Event amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The organizers have earlier planned to schedule in May but then later postponed to November.

Rio Major CS: GO 2020 Event Update:

As the pandemic situation is still not under control therefore the event is fully canceled. All people who have purchased the ticket can either request for refund or can stay still as the tickets will remain valid till the next update of the event.

Valve has also quoted recently that LAN events and other online events can be held until the situation is resolved but the event like Rio Major CS: GO is next to impossible in these current conditions.

However, ESL is planning to reschedule the event for the future. The new event date will be disclosed once the things are in control and when everything will be safe for people to get involved in this amazing event. It is also interesting to know that the event got its prize pool doubled to $2 million after the initial delay of the event from May.
