Pokemon Go developer, Niantic recently revealed they will end support for several 32-bit Android devices from August. They have taken this step to focus on supporting the latest OS and technologies. This step, however, will not affect users of other 64-bit Android devices and iOS users.

The devices which will lose Pokemon Go support in August include:

  • Samsung Galaxy S4, S5, Note 3, J3

  • Sony Xperia Z2, Z3

  • Motorola Moto G (1st generation)

  • LG Fortune, Tribute

  • OnePlus One

  • HTC One (M8)

  • ZTE Overture 3

  • And other Android devices that have been launched in and before 2015

This could be a major letdown for all fans of Pokemon Go as the lapse in support and services will cause users not to access their Pokemon Go accounts including the earned PokeCoins, or any earned items in their item bag.

Players who wish to continue playing Pokemon Go need to have a compatible 64-bit Android device or iOS device and must back up account info and passwords.

How to check if you have a 32 bit or 64 bit Android device?

You can visit settings, click on the about phone section and check the Kernel Version. Other than this, you can also use AnTuTu Benchmark or AIDA64 applications.
