Rating: 9 out of 10

The creators of League of Legends (LoL) Riot Games is here with a brand new title Valorant. It is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter. The title was published in October 2019 under the codename Project A, started a closed beta with restricted access on April 7, 2020, and was officially launched on June 2, 2020. It has already marked several records already.

When Roit Game developers presented Valorant they make sure that the user gets a unique and fresh first-person shooter experience in this game. The game is mostly inspired by Valve Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) so the user can easily match the game style.

Valorant comes with similar gunplay experience as CSGO and objective game mode, like Bomb planting. But Valorent offers a far better experience than CSGO. The game has a unique touch which makes the game different from any other FPS game in this genre is you could choose a unique Agent before the match gets started. All agents have a different ability which is a very similar experience from Overwatch developed by Blizzard Entertainment.

The mixed gameplay of lethal gunfights and original abilities in VALORANT gives Riot Games the potential to introduce various fun game modes.

Unrated- This is the core gameplay of the game where the team is divided into 5vs5 attackers and defenders. The game starts with picking your agents according to your choice and each agent has 4 different abilities.

Some ability resetting after each round some need to buy back after use and ultimate ability to unlock when the user gets kills, plant, or defuse. You cannot pick the same agents if your teammate already locked some agents so be quick or discuss before picking any agents.

Once everyone picks their agents’ gameplay to start with eco round. Players need to buy ability and weapon before round gets started. Each weapon gives different recoil, spray pattern, and moderate damage on various distances.

Some weapons offer ADS as well, so every weapon is unique. Attackers need to plant and successfully detonate the spike to win the round or kill the entire enemy time before time runs out and defenders need to deny the spike plant till time runs out or kill the entire enemy team to win the round.

25 rounds will be played, after 12 rounds teams will change the side. A team who claim 13 round win will win the game. A game in this mode will take around 30-40 min to complete. Win-loss will not affect players rank or MMR.

Competitive Game Mode in Valorant

This is where players will be divided as per their skills, Valorent added competitive game mode all the rules from unrated will be applied here but only matchmaking will be based on players rank higher the rank more skilled enemies you will face. So with every kill, win-loss matters and will affect your rank progression.

How competitive works-

  • Complete Unrated matches to unlock Competitive mode
  • 8 ranks, 3 tiers each, except the top rank, Radiant
  • Queue with up to 5-player parties

Rank isn’t displayed if competitive matches aren’t played within 14 days. Nevertheless, your rank doesn’t decay behind the scenes.

Valorant 3

After spending 100+ hrs. from beta to release here is my experience.

So Valorent is very similar to current fast pace FPS games with few twists. Game is new so only 3 maps and 11 Agents are present. The game also offers a unique weapon skin upgrade system and Battle pass to grind multiple in-game items. But hold on game developers are not done yet this is just a start there are a lot more to come, new weapons, maps, game modes, and agents as well.

The game offers 128 tick rate dedicated servers which provide great lag-free experience to any user who plays the game. Game graphics are absolutely stunning plain and flat texture which does not cause any problem while playing and game can be played smoothly on low-end PCs as well.
