From Mario to Garfield, Chris Pratt is on a roll, it seems!
This new animated film about the world’s most loved cat, would undoubtedly be a complex character study of this long standing comics, will be produced by Alcon Entertainment. The project will be directed by Mark Dindal of Chicken Little fame and the script is being written by David Reynolds of Finding Nemo fame. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the duo has also, previously, collaborated on The Emperor’s New Groove.
Chris Pratt will be lending his voice to Nintendo’s iconic plumber extraordinaire, Mario, in a new as of yet untitled Mario movie that has a star studded voice cast that includes Charlie Day, Seth Rogen, Anya Taylor-Joy and more.
Chris Pratt To Be The New Voice For Garfield
Garfield debuted in 1978, a few years before Mario did in 1981. The comic strip holds a record for being the most syndicated in the entire world. Created by Jim Davis, the comic strip has been around for over four decades now. That is a lot of years of lasagne loving and Monday hating, and it is yet to lose its appeal.
Previously, in 2004 and in 2006, the orange, lasagne loving, cat character was voiced by Bill Murray, in Garfield and Garfield: A Tale Of Two Kitties, respectively. Prior to that, writer and voice actor, Lorenzo Music provided his voice for the character in the long running animated series Garfield And Friends that went on from 1988 to 1995, and the shorts, starting from 1982.
