COVID-19 could sink esports revenues by 45%

The novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted severely to the gaming businesses.


The clearest impact is on the esports, which involves the ESL and DreamHack. Although the digital nature of esports is successful in decreasing the negative effects.


According to the sources, sales will be down around 25 per cent in the first quarter alone because of drop in the esports and digital gaming industry.

Inevitably, the coronavirus pandemic has caused disruption in esports business. and the cancellation of above events will drive esports revenues to decline by $1 Billion in 2020.
