Recently, Half-Life game’s community called LambdaGeneration Community (@LambdaGenPosts) decided to storm on Half-Life 2. You as why? To simply see if it possible to break previous concurrent users record. The record was previously set back in 2010 with an all-time peak of 12,953 players but the community has now broken and created a new one. It now stands at 16,101 concurrent users on Steam created on 14th August 2021.

Half-Life 2 was released in the year 2004, the game popularly known as ‘one of the best FPS ever made’.  However, when the game was launched Steam did not have such intriguing tracking features that could define concurrent users and by the time they launched this feature, most users stopped playing or were not active.

Thus, ‘Breaking the Bar’ event kicked off on 14th August at 3 p.m.(UTC) where everyone was invited to install and play the game. Also, there were few streamers on Twitch who streamed the game to raise more attention towards this event. There were around 8.4k viewers on Twitch on the day of event.

LambdaGeneration Community also shared a celebratory tweet stating ‘’Congrats to everyone for breaking the all-time peak in Half-Life 2!’. We are delighted to such an active community for game that is almost 16 years old but still loved by many. Are you a fan of Half-Life franchise? Share us your thoughts below.
