The release for Horizon Forbidden West officially gets delayed. A blogpost from PlayStation as well as a tweet from Guerrilla Games’ official Twitter account has confirmed the delay in the release.

Horizon Forbidden West is the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn. The expected release of the game was for some time towards the end of 2021. However, it was apparent that this was more of a target for the company rather than a fixed day. The game’s page on PlayStation.com had even stated the release date as “to be confirmed”.

According to a QnA session with Hermen Hulst, the head of PlayStation Studio, the developers of the game thought that they were on track for a release during the holiday of 2021 but they couldn’t be sure. The uncertainty was because of the lockdown restrictions due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The pandemic and the restrictions limited the access of the developers to actors and the equipment necessary for motion capture.

Horizon Forbidden West developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment is an action RPG. The game finally has an official release date. The game releases on February 18, 2022. The game will be available for PlayStation® 5 and PlayStation® 4. The pre-order for the game will begin from next week, onwards.
