Niantic has big plans for Pokémon Go fans to kick off 2022!

The new year is just around the corner. And Ninantic has planned a four days long event to ring in 2022. And add to that some Pokémon Go perks and what more could one ask for.

The Pokémon Go new year event will kick off on December 31, 2021 at 10:00 PM local time and will go on till 8:00 PM January 4, 2022. And hour after the event kicks off at 10:00 PM, players will be able to enjoy a display of in game fireworks, as they “catch ‘em all”. This fireworks display will be running until the midnight of January 2, 2022.

In addition to that, all throughout the weekend, players will be getting various buffs that are centred around the hatching of the eggs. This includes eggs that take half the time to hatch as well as offering double the amount of Candy and Stardust.

Players will be able to purchase New Year themed items from Shop, using Pokécoins. This includes 2022 glasses and an entire outfit to go with it! That is not all! Multiple Pokémon in costumes, both present as well as past will be appearing in research encounters, in the wilds, in raids, along with hatching in 7km eggs.

These Pokémon Will Be Available On Pokémon Go During The Event:

One Star Raids:

  • 2020 Glasses Slowpoke
  • New Year’s Hat Hoothoot
  • Party Hat Wobbuffet
  • Mawile

Three Star Raids:

  • Party Hat Nidorino
  • Machamp
  • Party Hat Gengar

This will be the first ever event on Pokémon Go that will be entirely dedicated to 2022. This event will be following right on the heels of the Winter Holiday Event that kicked off on December 16, 2021 and will be ending on December 31, 2021.
