It has led to the cancellation of various gaming events like E3, GDC, etc. In addition, many game developers and publishers are working from home. Recently, Game Workers Unite, an organization of game workers issued a statement regarding ongoing COVID-19 which should be addressed.
GWU posted on the Twitter that there is a great difference among various job roles in the gaming industry as many staff are going through really bad days. Many gaming staff are forced for unpaid leave. Therefore, organization is wanting for flexible working hours, health services and sick pay for all game workers.
Video Games are undoubtedly the source of entertainment for millions of people worldwide. But Game Workers Unite is looking to favour game development sector once COVID-19 crisis ends.
