Nintendo Switch OLED edition was recently tested for its durability. Did it make it?
The new Nintendo Switch OLED edition went on sale starting October 8, 2021. This latest offering from Nintendo has been priced at $ 349.99. This latest console from Nintendo has received quite a few upgrades on its predecessor.
With so many upgrades that it has been fitted with, it is not surprising that the question might, therefore, arise that how durable is this new Switch? YouTuber JerryRigEverything has an answer to that.
JerryRigEverything Checks The Durability Of The New Nintendo Switch OLED Edition
As per JerryRigEverything’s video, the device started exhibiting the appearance of scratches at level 3 and 4, which is very in line with plastics. This is because the display unit on the Switch OLED edition has in place a permanent plastic screen protector.
The plastic protector has been put in place, to ensure that in case of a breakage, the glass does not scatter everywhere. It is, therefore, quite clear that because of this plastic protector, it is very easy that the device can get scratches on it.
It is also evident that the device’s display undergoes some serious permanent damage in the bend burn test. But this is quite the norm for devices with OLED display units. The device, however, successfully survives the bend test. This goes on to show that the new model has made some significant improvement, in this aspect of the design, as compared to the first generation model.
