The Valorant Conquerors Championship 2021 just concluded yesterday, i.e., August 30, 2021. The event organized by NODWIN Gaming in partnership with Riot Games was organized as a qualifying tournament series for the APAC Last Chance Qualifiers 2021. This event was a part of the events leading up to the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour 2021.

The flagship event had a prize pool of INR 25 lakhs ($ 33,000) was aimed as the “road to VCT 2021” for the Indian and South Asian players of the game. The qualifiers for the championship were held across six different zones, each with its own time slot.

The zones for the qualifiers of VCC 2021 were India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, and a Wildcard. The teams battled it out with two Indian teams grabbing the top spots for the final.

According to Esports commentator and analyst Sudhen “Bleh” Wahengbam, 50,000 viewers watched the livestream of the Valorant Conquerors Championship 2021 grand final, as the two teams battled it out for glory. The stream has since been viewed over 185,000 times, at the time of writing this article!

While the numbers might not be as much as it is in several other countries, it is a good start. Wahengbam tweeted from his Twitter handle last evening that the numbers clearly are a “milestone” and an indicator of the potential for esports in India and the South Asian region.

The champions will be facing teams from Japan, China, South East Asia and Korea at the APAC Last Chance Qualifiers 2021. The winners of this upcoming tournament will be getting a spot to compete against champions from the rest of the gaming world for the ultimate Valorant glory at the Valorant Champions Tour 2021 that will most likely take place in Berlin, Germany.
