Over 3 Million Units of Resident Evil Village Sold Worldwide !

On 11th May, In a press release, Capcom said that they  have shipped over 3 miilion Units of Resident Evil Village. This new title from Capcom has sold 3 million units on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 , Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. Resident Evil Village which is a survival horror game was released on 7th May 2021 worldwide. These units includes digital and physical sales. Adding to this, the series of Resident Evil has sold over 100 million units since 1996.

Although, developers also sold 2 million copies of Resident Evil 3 Remake in five days and Resident Evil 7 which sold 2.5 million units in four days but it’s new series have broken their previous records this time. Alongside, Resident Evil Village also broke concurrent players record for the first time on Steam (PC). With over 100,00 concurrent Steam player, it was record breaking for this series at it’s launch.

Capcom said, Moreover, in celebration of the series’ 25th anniversary, Capcom will launch Resident Evil Re:Verse, an online multiplayer action game where players battle it out as popular characters from the series. The game will be provided free to players who purchase Resident Evil Village. Capcom further plans a number of initiatives to expand the value of the brand, including the franchise’s first original CG animated series Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, which will launch worldwide exclusively on Netflix, as well as a variety of other cross-media expansions.”
