Alan Wake Remastered to take players back to Bright Falls and this time in 4K. Can a sequel be in the works?
Remedy announced the full 4K remaster of Alan Wake will be arriving this fall via Epic Game Store for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation® 5 and PlayStation® 4. Is this the indication that maybe a sequel to this cult classic game might be in the cards?
The game along with both its expansions would be allowing for 4K resolution. In addition to this, it would also consist of a new commentary from Sam Lake, the game’s creative director. While no official release date has been announced, the leaks by Wario64 indicated that October 5, 2021 could be a likely date.
Alan Wake Remastered CONFIRMED!
On Alan Wake’s fansite, The Sudden Stop, in an open letter, Sam Lake writes “the original experience you fell in love with all those years ago. We did not want to change that. But the visuals all around, including the character model of Alan Wake himself and the cinematics, have been updated and improved with some choice next-generation upgrades”.
Remedy has never made a secret about wanting to dive back into the world of Alan Wake, once again. Work had been going on, on the sequel for the game but could never quite make it to the finish line. However, with the announcement of the remaster, it can be hoped that a sequel could also, very well be in the cards.
Alan Wake developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Studios, is a 2010 action adventure, survival horror game for PC and Xbox 360. It follows novelist Alan Wake who while uncovering the mystery of his missing wife, discovers that he is experiencing the plot of his own latest novel, one that he did not remember writing. With Alan Wake Remastered, it is for the first time that the game will be arriving on PlayStation.
