Without any prior notice, EA has decided to delist ‘5’ Need for Speed titles from digital storefronts. The announcement / notice was made via a Reddit post. Hence, no user will be able to purchase any of the 5 titles (mentioned below) from 31st May 2021 and alongside in-game store will also be closed. However, the online services for these titles will be ended in coming 3 months i:e 31st August 2021.
“Until that date, you will be able to play and race your friends (and rivals) online. From September 1st 2021 onwards, you can still play the games and use the respective offline features of these titles.”, the post mentioned.
The titles are as follows:
NFS Shift 2: Unleashed
NFS The Run
In their defence, developers said that these titles were decided to be taken down as to low player engagement and count. Also, they would like to focus more on upcoming Need for Speed Titles. It is still not confirmed what titles developers will focus on but the fan base of NFS is eagerly waiting for the response.
The titles released recently such as NFS Heat and NFS Payback received mix set of reviews and overall the players were not fully satisfied. You can check out our review on NFS Heat for more details on the title.
